Deryana Dhuzent

I’m Deryana Dhuzent, a Mexican multidisciplinary artist based in Vancouver. For me, art is more than a creative outlet—it’s been a form of therapy, a way to process pain, express dreams, and navigate healing.

My artistic journey began in 2020 during the pandemic, while studying video game development at Vancouver Film School. Facing visa delays and personal challenges after graduation, I turned to art to cope with depression and uncertainty. That emotional release became a calling.

My work explores themes of trauma, recovery, hope, and resilience. Influenced by my own experiences with mental health struggles and toxic relationships, I use art to raise awareness and promote healing. I’m passionate about creating spaces for dialogue around mental health, equality, and ending violence.

Community has played a huge role in my growth. Organizations like Employ to Empower and Make-It have helped me turn my passion into a business, participate in public art projects, and connect with others through creativity.

Today, I continue to build that community through my Patreon, where supporters can join me in cultivating a safe, inspiring space for artistic exploration.
