"Life can take everything from me, but never my wings."
This piece was created in 2018, during one of the most difficult moments in my life. I was still in recovery and trying to get back on my feet. It was a time when everything felt lost, and every attempt to rise again seemed impossible. The painting became a quiet but fierce act of resistance, a way to hold on to something within myself that no one could take away.
The faceless, limbless woman in white stands with wings behind her. No arms, no legs, no features… yet she carries presence and power, even after everything. The wings are a symbol of what remains untouched: our spirit, our freedom, and our ability to rise again, even in silence, even when others try to shut us down.
I brought this piece with me from Mexico. It’s one of the oldest pieces I own and continues to remind me that no matter what life strips away, I will never lose my wings.
Now, I feel it’s time to let it go. I hope it finds someone who needs a reminder to keep moving forward and never give up.
